DIRECTOR of the OPUS BALLET CENTER and ARTISTIC DIRECTOR of the OPUS BALLET COMPANY
Born in Genoa, trained at the dance school of Giannina Censi, a well-known dancer of futurist dances, she continued her studies with Rossella Hightower, M. Miskovitch, Victor Rona, completing her classical training with Riccardo Nunez.
She learned the Graham technique with Elsa Piperno and Joseph Fontano. She made her debut at the International Festival of Nervi with the London Festival Ballet in The Nutcracker.
She danced with the Off Jazz Dance Company in France under the direction of Gianin Loringett and later with the Louis Falco Dance Company of New York.
She has worked with choreographers such as Matt Mattox, Peter Goss, and in Paris with Kim Kam (Limon technique). She also collaborated on the choreography of the musical comedy “Musical” with the group of the Teatro Stabile di Genova directed by Gian Maria Volonté.
Since the 1980s she has lived in Florence, where she founded and directed the Hot Jazz Dance company, later known as Opus Ballet, developing a new choreographic language as the result of in-depth research in the field of modern and contemporary dance. She collaborated with Stewart Copeland, drummer of The Police, for the creation of the ballet Il grande amico Meaulnes. She taught and directed modern dance courses at the Florence Dance Center school of Marga Nativo and Keith Ferrone in Florence.
In 1999 she founded the cultural association Opus Ballet and is still the artistic director of COB Compagnia Opus Ballet.
From 2000 to 2004 she co-directed the Danza/Scuola Toscana Association, home of the School of Balletto di Toscana directed by Cristina Bozzolini.
Since 2004, together with Daniel Tinazzi, she has co-directed the OPUS BALLET International Center for Dance and Performance in Florence.
Since 2005 she has held modern and contemporary dance courses at the IN-PULSO BALLET Center in São Paulo, Brazil; at the Jazzy Center in Lisbon; at Studio Harmonic in Paris; at the New World School of the Arts in Miami; and also at the Institute of the Arts Barcelona, in Bergen in Norway, at The National Centre for Culture & Arts in Jordan, and in Panama at Steps School during the Prisma Festival. Furthermore in Porto (Portugal), Helsinki (Finland), Budapest (Hungary), Munich (Iwanson Centre), Hong Kong (China), Mexico City and Guadalajara (Mexico).
She is invited as a jury member at international choreographic competitions and regularly holds courses for teachers in Italy and abroad.
